In the News: Seaport Museum tops ‘unique’ list

SEAPORT MUSEUM AMONG MOST UNIQUE
Gothamist made a list of the nine most unique museums out of the 170 (!) in the city, and the South Street Seaport Museum makes the list, along with the Brooklyn Seltzer Museum, the Queens County Farm Museum and the Jacques Marchais Museum of Tibetan Art on Staten Island. The story makes note of the museum’s fleet of ships (you can climb aboard the 1885 tall ship Wavertree and 1908 lightship Ambrose), and Bowne & Co. Stationers, a fully operational and very old print shop.

PENTHOUSE GLAM AT 90 WEST BROADWAY
Elle Decor has a feature on the penthouse at 90 West Broadway (and Chambers), a three-level apartment with a terrarium in the middle designed by Bryan Young at Young Projects. This is his second time designing the apartment.

125 GREENWICH GETTING CLOSER TO COMPLETION
Yimby has some good long-range shots of 125 Greenwich, the 900-foot residential building designed by Rafael Viñoly Architects rising just south of the World Trade Center at Thames. The 88-story building will have 273 condominium units.

CHRISTIAN SIRIANO’S FAVORITE THINGS
Penta (which is part of Barron’s?) covered fashion designer Christian Siriano’s favorite things, and it turns out he lives in Tribeca. He won Project Runway in 2007 and has built an eponymous luxury womenswear brand since. “Siriano’s collections of elegant, and sometimes daring, evening wear have earned him accolades from the likes of Michelle Obama, Billy Porter, and Lady Gaga.”
