Man found dead in Rector Park

The Broadsheet reported that the body of an unidentified man was found in Rector Park, on Rector and South End Avenue, just east of the Esplanade, a few minutes before 7a on Thursday morning, Jan. 4.

Police confirmed that officers responded to a 911 call and upon arrival, observed an unidentified, unconscious and unresponsive male in his 30s hunched over on a park bench, bleeding from his nose and mouth. EMS responded and pronounced the man deceased at the scene. The medical examiner will determine the cause of death. The investigation is ongoing.

The identity of the deceased is pending proper family notification.
