G. sent along two WSJ stories: the first is the record per-square-foot prices ($2400) in the West Village putting them at number one for the city’s most expensive neighborhood. The second is a Tribeca penthouse with a rooftop swimming pool that has sold for $18.75 million, a roughly 40 percent discount from its original asking price of $30 million in 2022. The triplex penthouse is 5500 square feet with a 2000-bottle wine cellar in the basement and 2200 square feet outside that includes a 21-foot infinity pool, kitchen and grill — I am thinking that is the southwest on the northwest corner of N. Moore and West Broadway. From the WSJ: “Property records show the buyer of the Tribeca condo unit was Bill Haussmann, founder of Prestige Medical Imaging, a New York-based medical imaging company acquired in 2021 by private-equity firm Atlantic Street Capital. The seller was Simon Posen, a U.K.-born investor.”

FRENCHETTE BAKERY AT THE WHITNEY
Eater’s reviewer ate his way around the menu at the new Frenchette Bakery outlet at the Whitney: “The sandwich list had been brilliantly expanded with a croque madame ($18) as good as any in the city…A couple of soups have been added to the menu — which is just what‘s needed for fortification during a multi-floor museum crawl…There are four pizzas, too, called pizz’ettes…The one we picked — oregano, anchovies, and thin slices of garlic — was near perfect ($17). And you won’t miss the cheese.”

CAVIAR CHEF HAS TWINS
Nice news from People on the Top Chef — Buddha Lo — who is opening the caviar restaurant and shop in the former L’Angolo space on Greenwich and Duane: twins! with wife and pastry chef Rebekah Pedler. The little ones names are Tatiana and Alina.

DAVID YURMAN EXPANDS TRIBECA SPACE
The Commercial Observer reports that the jeweler David Yurman has expanded his headquarters in 200 Hudson: “The jewlery brand first moved into the Tribeca building in 2002 when it signed a 15-year lease for 65,000 square feet spread across two and a half floors, Women’s Wear Daily reported. It later expanded to 118,500 square feet and the new deal tacks on another 32,200 square feet, according to the landlord.”
