LOCAL VIGIL TO END WAR IN ISRAEL
A group called NY-10 Neighbors is organizing a vigil at the Irish Hunger Memorial on Monday, Jan. 15, at 11a to demand that “Israel and the U.S. stop starving Gaza. We will denounce starvation as a war tactic and tool of colonial empire from Ireland to Bangladesh.” They are demanding a permanent ceasefire, no US weapons aid to Israel, and a release of all hostages. BRAZILIAN DESIGN AT R & COMPANY
R & Company will host an opening event for its January exhibitions on Friday, January 12, 6–8p, at 64 White Street. On display is furniture from Forma, the iconic Brazilian furniture company, founded by Carlo Hauner and Martin Eisler. “They created timeless design classics that combined the clean architectural lines they had seen in Europe with Brazil’s sensual materials and sophisticated craftsmanship traditions.”
