Seen & Heard: Book Nook is now Wise Wonder

BOOK NOOK IS NOW WISE WONDER
More on this soon, but in the meantime, Book Nook Enrichment, the all-things-reading-and-books center on Warren, has changed its name to Wise Wonder Enrichment in preparation to franchise the business. (As they were taking the legal steps to create the franchise structure, Barnes & Noble objected to their use of the word ‘Nook’ given their electronic reader of the same name, so they were forced to rebrand.) They also have a new location in New Jersey. Nothing will change with the Tribeca studio but the name.

LOOKING SHARP
My Downtown pals’ son, Jack Dolan, is a knife maker, and just made these sharp little beauties for One White. JLD Knives began in Ireland in 2015, when he learned the knife-making process from a master, Fingal Ferguson. Jack handcrafts each part of the knife from completely raw materials, with steel sourced from Albany and New Jersey. Check them out here.

GIGINO NOW SERVING BRUNCH
Gigino Trattoria has added a “Brunch Italiano” on the weekends: noon to 4, with a new menu alongside their regular lunch offerings.

THE DEN ADDS SUNDAYS
The Den, the omakase part of Sushi Azabu on Greenwich, will add Sundays to their schedule starting March 10. There are two menus: Den Omakase for $250 and Signature Nigiri Omakase for $350. This makes me realize that I never did write about The Den, helmed by chef Toshihide Terado, which opened in 2022, after a renovation of Sushi Azabu. Will get over there soon…
