Seen & Heard: New shops for Broadway

NEW SHOPS FOR BROADWAY AND WORTH
I will go back to visit when they are all set up, but in the meantime, the east side of Broadway just north of Worth has three new shops: Royal Hair Salon, owned by Surendra Thakur; Sulita Beauty Salon; and Topy Shoe Repair. There’s also a new Dunkin’ Donuts — they moved from down the street.

BROOKLYN BREAD WILL OPEN APRIL 26
N. caught the announcement on their website: Brooklyn Bread, which has taken the former OneSeed space at 111 Murray (though the shop is on the east side of the pocket park) will open on April 26. You can sign up for a free bagel!

CHURCH STREET SCHOOL’S ‘THE EVENT’ COMING UP
Church Street School for Music and Art will host its annual fundraiser The Event on Tuesday, April 9, at 7p at the New-York Historical Society. This year’s honorees are Cathleen E. McLaughlin, CSSMA board member, and Johanna Kopp, a faculty member at the school for nearly 20 years. Purchase tickets here.

CARBON NEUTRAL CATAMARAN IN BPC
I haven’t seen it yet, but J. says that this catamaran — the Energy Observer — is parked at the North Cove Marina in Battery Park City. It’s solar powered and then some.

  1. Thanks for noting the Energy Observer! I’ve been meaning to look it up every time we see it. It is huge and looks very cool.
