Seen & Heard: Date for Dinner on Duane set

DINNER ON DUANE WILL BE SEPT. 15
The Friends of Duane Park will close Duane Street on Sunday, Sept. 15, starting at 4p, for its third annual end-of-summer dinner party for 175 friends and neighbors. This year’s meal will be prepared by the Chambers Street Peruvian restaurant Artesano and the event will be sponsored by Tribecan Amy Bergman Bonomi of Compass. Other businesses participating are Duane Park Patisserie, Tribeca Wine Merchants, Laughing Man Café, Mary Giuliani Catering & Events, American Express and 60 Hudson Owner LLC. Tickets go on sale here on June 1 at 9a and are $500 per guest, with a maximum purchase of two tickets, or $6,000 for a package of six tickets. For general and corporate sponsorship inquiries, please contact benefit@duanepark.org.

PET ADOPTION EVENT AT COCOON
Cocoon will host a free pet adoption event on the sidewalk in front of their space at 316 Greenwich on April 13, from 10a to 2p. The ASPCA will bring their mobile adoption truck and will also share information about responsible pet ownership and animal welfare. More information here.

ROBERT IRWIN AT THE JUDD FOUNDATION
There’s no better field trip north of Canal than the Judd Foundation at 101 Spring, and now there is a Robert Irwin show there through August 31. This would give house guests a real thrill. The exhibition is comprised of three pieces in the first posthumous presentation of Irwin’s work in the United States. Hours are on Fridays and Saturdays from 1 to 5p. Advance reservations are required for guided visits. More here.

  1. Wow, that’s quite a price hike for Dinner on Duane. I know they sold out quickly last year, but this seems like a cash grab. Last year’s dinner was (Michelin-starred) One White Street and it was half the price. The math isn’t mathing…

    • I should let them answer probably, but I believe that first event was never intended to be an annual thing NOR was it scheduled to make money for the Friends, but since it was so popular they decided to keep it going and make it a fund raiser.
