NYAA’S LONGTIME PRESIDENT WILL STEP DOWN
David Kratz, the longtime president of the New York Academy of Art on Franklin, will step down from his role in May 2025, at the end of that academic year. He has served as president for 15 years, and will continue to be a member of the board of trustees. “From the moment I arrived at the school as an MFA student in 2006, I felt a deep connection with the Academy’s mission and community,” he wrote in his letter. “The education I received was life-changing. When the opportunity to serve as President arose in 2009, it seemed like more of a calling than a job.” The institution will undertake a search for a new president over the next months.
