Maman has taken the former Dr Smood space in the Goldman breezeway (and before that it was Francois Payard Bakery), on the corner with Murray, for a concept they call “petite maman.” They are scheduled to open in early July.

Owners Elisa Marshall and Benjamin Sormonte opened the first location in Soho in 2014 and ours, their first full-service restaurant, in 2015. They now have a couple dozen here, in DC, Montreal and even the Jersey Turnpike. The couple does their own interiors, so expect the usual charming, shabby chic, blue and white palette.

This spot will have six seats, the full espresso and tea menu, housemade pastries, a selected savory menu of maman’s best sellers, plus “petite maman” exclusive items.

Hours will be Monday to Friday, 7:30a to 6p; Saturday and Sunday from 8a to 6p.
