FUNDRAISER FOR JAMES KENT’S FAMILY
Friends of Crown Shy and the SAGA Hospitality Group’s restaurants have established a GoFundMe account, The James Kent Family Legacy Trust, a vehicle created exclusively for Jamal (James) Kent’s family — his wife, Kelly, and children, Gavin and Avery — to ensure that they’re financially stable and well cared for. The chef died on June 15 of a heart attack at age 45.
WINE CLASSES AT CHAMBERS
Chambers sommelier Pascaline Lepeltier is preparing for the ASI Best Sommelier Competition in Belgrade, so she is inviting neighbors to be part of her training process by leading classes based on the different subjects she will be studying and how she is studying them this summer. It will be a mix of tasting and teaching, six wines each time, all of them “blind.” Classes will last 90 minutes with a cap of 11 guests and cost $90. See the schedule here.
