Hudson Eats Report: Daily Provisions is in; Olive’s is moving to Greenwich

Putting two and two together: We knew that Daily Provisions was coming to Hudson Eats, and K. said that the rumor was that Olive’s is leaving, and sure enough, Daily Provisions will take that corner spot on the second floor of Brookfield. Olive’s is closing this month; Daily Provisions has yet to name a date. (My picture above is from June 2014, when they opened, along with the rest of Hudson Eats.)

Daily Provisions is the restaurateur Danny Meyer’s all-day cafe, serving breakfast all day, plus made-to-order sandwiches, salads and seasonal soups in the afternoon, a dinner menu with items like roast chicken and classic sides, and baked goods. They have six locations now; the first opened on 19th Street next to Union Square Cafe in 2017.

“It’s SO good,” A. said when she spotted the news on Instagram. “I get their chickpea salad and my husband loves their breakfast sandwiches and everything croissant. Their coffee is incredibly solid as is their granola. We like the small West Village location.”

Olive’s is moving its operation to the former Sweetgreen space on Greenwich and Hubert this fall.
