Marc Forgione & Dustin Wilson have launched a wine club

Marc Forgione (I am so far behind writing about Forge!) and master sommelier Dustin Wilson, who opened Verve Wine on Hubert in 2016, just launched a wine club this week. (I was going to add it to the TC Shop-Local Gift Guide, but figured it’s worth a mention here too. Great gift.) Their third partner is Sabato Sagaria of Apres Cru, also a master somm and formerly the chief restaurant officer of Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group.

Members of the Respect Wine Club (Marc’s restaurant group is called Respect Hospitality) will get three bottles curated by the team from small producers in Italy, France and the US for $95 a month. And each month will have a theme: for instance, November is Classic California; December is Sicily. “They’re going to be very special wines that you can’t find everywhere,” Dustin (on the right, below) said.

“One of the things we are most proud of at Respect Hospitality is we bring everyone fine dining without the bullshit,” Marc said. “And the Respect Wine Club is exactly that.”

There will be recipes and information about the wines that comes with the delivery, in addition to discounts at the wine store and Marc’s three restaurants: Forge, Peasant and One Fifth.

ICYMI, Marc moved his eponymous restaurant that had been on Reade for 17 years around the corner to 30 Hudson this past May. And Dustin is a master sommelier who has the wine store on Hubert, but also was the wine director at Eleven Madison Park. (I met him at the opening at One White Street, and he had a connection there as well at that time…)
