Maybe I shouldn’t be so shocked? A neighbor at 126 Chambers wrote to say that a woman made off with his building’s trash can Sunday night — just wheeled it right off. This is so not cool. There’s plenty of petty crime — robbery and burglary were all up last year (I will do an update soon) — but it seems that trash cans should be completely off limits, one New Yorker to another.

The perpetrator looked like she was just coming home from the gym and decided to take the can back to hers.

“I am wondering if you have heard from any other apartment/building owners of the city trash bins being stolen?” he asked. “As you will see in the video the women just walked off with it in the middle of the night.”
