THE TIN BUILDING ADDED AN OUTDOOR BAR
I don’t think this was here last year?? The Tin Building now has an outdoor bar on the southside. Hours are Monday to Wednesday, noon to 9p, and Saturday and Sundays, noon to 10p. (Not sure what happened to Thursday and Friday.) And on Sundays from 5 to 7p there’s live jazz by Danny Lipsitz, one of New York City’s most sought-after bandleaders and musicians.
MARY JEAGER AT OSSAM GALLERY
Longtime Tribecan and textile artist/fashion designer Mary Jaeger will have a show from June 21 to July 6 at Ossam Gallery, 300 7th Street in Brooklyn, open Thursday through Sunday or by appointment. The show focuses on her resist dye work and includes wall panels, her pleated silk accordion neck wraps, and dresses.
LITTLE ISLAND PERFORMANCE SERIES IS OPEN
Little Island has opened its performance series with “The Counterfeit Opera,” a new take on the legendary satire “The Beggar’s Opera” that has criticized corruption and picked on politicians for centuries. Tickets are $25.
RBW OPENS SHOWROOM ON FRANKLIN
I will stop by soon, but in the meantime, RBW, the lighting company, has opened a showroom at 85 Franklin, adding to the Tribeca Design District. The company was founded in the East Village in 2007 by three classmates from the Rhode Island School of Design; it is now a certified B corp and has a 100,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Kingston, New York.
