Longtime barber Eli Arabov, who has spent the past seven years cutting hair in Hell’s Kitchen and before that on Long Island, has taken a space at 157 Chambers, on the north side east of Greenwich. He joins recent new neighbors Cricket’s Candy Creations, MD Hyperbaric, StretchLab and Whitening Bar NYC.

He was ready to go out on his own, he said, and looked around the city for nearly four years for the right spot. “I thought I would find a good community over here and I was ready to take a chance,” he said.

He does it all, but considers his hot towel shaves and fades a specialty — he’s popular with the kids (“I’m a father myself so that comes in handy.”) and he has a washing station in the space.
