There’s always lots going on for Halloween, starting the weekend before the big day. As usual, neighborhood storefronts will be handing out candy on Thursday, Oct. 31, shortly after school gets out. I will update this list as events are added.

THE DISPLAY AT 21 JAY STREET
The residents of 21 Jay put up an elaborate Halloween installation on the corner at Greenwich — it’s on its way. )The install was delayed a couple days because of rain, but it’s happening this week.) The building is also hoping to close the street for a block party, but they have not received the permits yet.

Governors Island will host its free family-friendly pumpkin patch at Nolan Park on Saturday, October 25, and Sunday, October 26, from 10a to 5p. Festivities will include trick-or-treating, music and crafts, a Fall Foliage Tree Tour, fall-themed food and drink from island vendors, and more. Performances will include traditional and contemporary folk music curated by long-time Governors Island event partner Porch Stomp, daily performances by Hopalong Andrew, and puppet theater by Cara’s Caterpillars. More info here.

BROOKFIELD PLACE
Brookfield is hosting a Halloween Hunt throughout the mall from October 25 – November 2. Grab a map from the Concierge at 230 Vesey Street and complete fun activities around BFPL. Finish four tasks for a coloring bag and treats.
Any news on the building on the corner of Greenwich and Jay? My kids have been asking about their Halloween decorations and last year they shut down the street and threw such a great party.
I can’t remember how to reach them! Will try.
The 21 Jay folks are getting their Halloween display ready this week.
Decorations start going up today! Last year we got feedback that a full month was too long for decorations so scaled them back to two weeks.
Hi – is the block party happening this year?
