A HARRISON TOWNHOUSE IS FOR SALE
Thanks to Robert Ripps for the heads-up: 6sqft notes that 25 Harrison, the Harrison Street historic brick home on the corner of Greenwich, is for sale for $6.35 million. If I am reading the records correctly, it last sold in 1994 for $428,000 to Tribeca real estate agent Barrie Mandel.
REI STORE IN SOHO IS CLOSING
Curbed reports that the REI store on Houston and Lafayette in the Puck Building — the one that is always packed — is closing at the end of 2026. “As markets and customer needs evolve, we must adapt to position the co-op for long-term success,” a company statement said. Curbed said the store opened in 2011: “The company worked with the architecture and design firm Callison to expose brick walls and ceilings from the 1890s, refurbish and install a pair of original chandeliers, and repurpose wood from the original structure as cashier counters and display tables.”
TRUMP WANTS TO TAKEOVER THE 9/11 MUSEUM
The Times reports that Trump is exploring ways to give control of the 9/11 Memorial & Museum to the federal government, “according to two White House officials, amid criticism from some Sept. 11 victims’ families over the site’s finances and leadership. The officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss private deliberations, said the discussions have been preliminary and exploratory, and it was unclear exactly how the federal government would take control of the site.”
Is Trump’s anthem Everybody Wants To Rule the World by Tears for Fears? The mentality insane are loose in D.C. He has no respect for the first responders or the people who went to work that day and didn’t make it home.
