Seen & Heard: Take a stroll

TAKE A STROLL
The past couple of years I have published a holiday lights stroll around the neighborhoods on Christmas Day. This year I am doing a firehouse tour, so thought I would link last year’s here. It’s a great way to show the neighborhood off to visitors. The Seaport tree is especially good this year, and the Dead Rabbit has a Christmas installation called Jingle Jangle — though it is nearly impossible to get in there.

DUANE PARK SEEKING INPUT ON FUNDRAISER
Friends of Duane Park is throwing its annual Groundhog Day event — this year a bar crawl between several local establishments — and they want to know what the community prefers: early evening on Sunday February 1, or evening on Monday, February 2. Email them at benefit@duanepark.org with your opinion.

OSCAR SMITH HAS CLOSED HIS GYM
Oscar Smith, who has run OD Studio in the neighborhood for 22 years, has decided to close his gym. His space was damaged in the fire at 45 White last January, a space he had rented since 2011. He had planned to reopen, but earlier this month he learned his door was left open and the items were taken from his space. That was the last straw. “My heart is broken that I have to move out of Tribeca after 22 years,” he wrote. Contact him here.

ROCKET CLUB MATH HAS EXPANDED AGAIN
Rocket Club Math is opening a new location opening this month at 1415 Lexington (between 92nd and 93rd streets). This is its fourth Manhattan location — it opened here in 2023.

WHO NEEDS MACY’S?
24 Warren has some especially fun windows this year.
