February 9, 2026 Restaurant/Bar News
Artion Cafe, the Greek bakery that opened in July in the embattled space at 293 Church between White and Walker has closed. The announcement, on Instagram, said it was a pop-up, but this was news to me. The post did say they were preparing for a “future, larger space.”
It has two siblings in the city: The Bakery Room on East 55th Street, and Artion Bakery Patisserie in Astoria, which opened in 2021.
Previously that storefront was the Revolving Store; but before that was L’Entree, which was eventually closed by the marshal but not before ticking everyone off for noise and what seemed like an illegal Airbnb.
Too bad something good can’t stick there. It’s a classic space with good neighbors…

I’m so, so sorry to hear this – – Artion was the ‘real deal’!
Amazing Greek delicacies –
Funny – I live on Hudson St and just 2 days ago made a reminder note to go to Artion – – this is sad news indeed.
