The Blizzard of ’26 deposited nearly 20 inches of snow in Central Park, and in Tribeca, not a curl of wrought iron was spared a dusting. A reader sent the video above of One World Trade caught in a flash of thundersnow — the rare winter phenomenon where lightning and thunder occur during a snowstorm instead of rain. And Robert Ripps and Theo Schefer hit the streets, finding familiar landmarks (and no line at Bubby’s!) blanketed in white.
Enjoy!
Great shots. And a huge “Thank You” to all the City workers who kept the streets open, buses and trains running, and handled emergencies.
