PRO WOMEN PHOTOGS SHOW AT BMCC
Professional Women Photographers will host a reception for Small Works: A Fundraiser Exhibition on Sunday, March 8 — International Women’s Day — at The Breezeway at BMCC’s Tribeca Performing Arts Center, from 2 to 6p. The show is up until March 21. The show includes cell phone images, printed 6 x 6, from 92 women and non-binary photographers. Limited eidtion prints are for sale as of March 8 for $50 to benefit the PWP 50th anniversary documentary “Women of Vision: 50 Years of Empowering Women in Photography.” Photographers include Meryl Meisler, Mariette Pathy Allen, Joan Roth, Jini Sachse, and Barbara Leven. ZONING 101 EXPLAINER FROM CFDC
The Community First Development Coalition, which organized to fight the proposed fourth tower for Independence Plaza, has created a Zoning 101 primer on its website, including a video that explains “why NYC neighborhoods look the way they do and how they may evolve in the future.” There is also a chance to reply to a survey. MARIONETTE SHOW IN BPC
Battery Park City will host “Tillie the Terrible Swede,” a free marionette show for families on Saturday March 7 at 10a and 11a at 6 River Terrace. The show is based on the true story of pioneering sportswoman Matilda Anderson and how Tillie became the best woman cyclist in the world.
HUGO WINDER-LIND AT ISABEL SULLIVAN
Isabel Sullivan Gallery is showing “Clouds Of Limitless And Expanding Joy,” the U.S. debut solo exhibition of British artist Hugo Winder-Lind. The show runs through April 11 with an opening reception on Thursday, March 5, from 6–8pm at 39 Lispenard. The exhibit features 12 new paintings shaped by the British landscape, animal life and a mythic, elemental charge.
