March 9, 2026 Restaurant/Bar News
With the closing of the Tin Building — making way for an immersive exhibit called Balloon Museum — there is a lot of action at the Seaport. Figured I would dump it all into one post. And I think there’s even more that I am missing…
MALIBU FARM CLOSES — SOMETHING COMING?
Malibu Farm, which opened on Pier 17 in 2019, closed permanently on January 9. The bar had an amazing view of the bridge, but the space itself was cavernous. There’s now some action on CB1’s licensing committee agenda for March 9…
MEOW WOLF IN FRONT OF CB1
Meow Wolf is an immersive exhibit production company which has full-time artists on staff working in a huge range of media — sculpture, painting, fabrication, digital art, writing, film, and many more. They say they prioritize collaboration with many local artists in each exhibition location. They come before the Landmarks Committee at CB1 on March 12.
CORK COMING TO 193 FRONT
Cork, the wine bar out of Soho, has taken the storefront in the historic 193 Front, right off the main drag at the bottom of Fulton. They offer a big wine list and charcuterie selections. They should be open in April; they secured their beer and wine liquor license last summer for 1375 square feet, capacity of 48 people, 15 tables and 48 seats.
WILLET’S OPENING ON JULY 4
Crazy day to open: July 4 in the year of the 250th anniversary at the Seaport! But that’s the plan according to the Willett’s website. They say they will have four distinct venues under one roof — each designed to “celebrate the past, captivate the present, and elevate the future of New York City’s food and beverage scene.” There will be a coffee bar, a wine bar, a beer and oyster bar, and a whiskey and cocktail bar. Address is 21-25 Fulton, just past the lighthouse.
