March 27, 2026 Restaurant/Bar News
M. heard from her barista that Jack’s Stir Brew Coffee on Reade (between Hudson and Greenwich) will close next month — and the manager of operations for the company confirmed that the last day will be April 17.
I also checked at The Roxy — the Jack’s at that location closed about three months ago, they said; they now operate it themselves.
Jack’s opened at 139 Reade in 2016 (the first location opened in the Village in 2003) — before that it was Christina Lehr’s boutique, which she opened there in 2011. She leased the space after her boyfriend — Jack Mazzola, the Jack of Jack’s Stir Brew — considered putting a café there. “He looked at the space years ago, to buy it. And then he got a call when it came on the market again. He was going to put a Jack’s here, but he just opened a store in Amagansett. He asked if I wanted a store,” Christina said in 2011.
Before Lehr had the space, it was Kiva cafe. I’m guessing Mazzola still owns the storefront condo, though the company merged with TenEleven Hospitality in 2022 — they have the bar chain Vin Sur Vingt, which once had the Della’s space on West Broadway.
According to the website, there are still five other Jack’s — including two in the Hamptons — and one coming to the Upper West Side soon.
And if I am following the digital thread correctly, Christina Lehr runs a new company called Henry Lehr with three locations in the Hamptons.

There was a location near the Seaport that opened before the TriBeCa location, but that closed years ago as well.
