FACEGYM MAYBE COMING TO CHURCH?
A very good tip came through that the former Quick Cryo space next to Tracy Anderson on Church and Franklin will be a new Facegym location. HOWEVER, the company (it’s a franchise) replied and said they don’t have any confirmed new openings as of now. Keep an eye out! The business was founded by former beauty and wellness columnist Inge Theron; they employ face “workouts” that “sculpt, lift and tone your face with signature massage moves, high performance skincare and patented triple wave technology.” Quick Cryo opened in 2017 and closed in 2020.

CHOOSE CREATIVITY AWARDS ON JUNE 2
Tribecans Marina and Kevin Krim, who founded the Choose Creativity Awards and its underlying non-profit the Lulu and Leo Fund, will host their annual fundraiser and celebration on June 2 at Tribeca 360. The organization provides social-emotional learning programs to under-resourced schools in the city. The Choose Creativity Awards celebrate and honor innovators across the arts, sciences, technology and education and this year’s goes to Craig Thomas, Tribeca resident and the Emmy-nominated co-creator of “How I Met Your Mother” and author of the novel “That’s Not How It Happened.” See more information here.

The folks at Hot 8 Yoga coming to Reade — to the former Mayweather Boxing space — said their official opening date will be August 10.

ANOTHER TOURIST SPOT FOR BROADWAY
J. wrote to say that 424 Broadway, which was the illegal weed store Empire Cannabis Club, was taken over by a token tourist store. “While not the biggest news, it’s interesting to see that several of these stores have now popped up here at Broadway and Canal over the past two years (I think I count four new ones),” J. wrote.
