ICYMI, Knicks ticker-tape parade is tomorrow

The ticker-tape parade for the Knicks starts at 10a at Bowling Green tomorrow, and will snake around up the Canyon of Heroes — aka Broadway — to end at City Hall. The Downtown Alliance supplies the confetti. The ceremony will be on the steps of City Hall for a ticketed event.

And basically the whole neighborhood will be locked down.

Here’s what the mayor’s office is saying now:

STARTING 7P TONIGHT
Parking will not be allowed south of Canal. Cars will be towed if they are not removed.

STARTING 7A TOMORROW

  • South of Canal Street will be shut down to vehicular traffic from the Hudson River to the East River
  • The FDR and West Side Highway will remain open.
  • Traffic coming off the Brooklyn Bridge into Manhattan will only be able to go northbound on the FDR.
  • Pedestrians will be able to use the walkway (I assume this means sidewalks??)

  1. umm…this “towing all cars south of canal” seems…excessive? i can understand on/near the parade route…what are my fellow ASP’ers doing?

  2. Any remaining vehicles will be set on fire, presumably?

  3. What about the A/C/E Chambers St station?
