Seen & Heard: Concerts have started in Duane Park

DUANE PARK SUMMER CONCERT SERIES
The Friends of Duane Park have started their summer concert series — the first was already on June 10; upcoming dates are Wednesday, June 24, with Retro Baby, a four-member jam band that plays the hits of the 80s/90s/2000s; and Wednesday, July 8, with Falcon Crest NYC, a four-piece cover band that plays rock-n-roll songs of the 1960s and 1970s. Both are 6:30 to 8. The series runs through September 9. More info here.

MIDSUMMER FESTIVAL IS JUNE 20
The Consulate General of Sweden in New York and the Battery Park City Authority will host the 28th-annual Swedish Midsummer Festival at Rockefeller Park on Saturday, June 20, from 4 to 9p, featuring traditional music, dancing, food, artisan goods, family-friendly entertainment and a massive sunset DJ set. This year’s festival is projected to welcome 10,000 festivalgoers. There will be dancing around the midsummer pole with folk music, flower crown making, marionette puppet shows from the Swedish Cottage Marionette Theatre and FIFA Mobile Tour soccer activations.

DUANE PARK PATISSERIE IS OFFICIALLY CLOSED
Duane Park Patisserie served its last scone this weekend when Madeline Lanciani had an “estate sale,” clearing out glasses, mugs, cake stands, T-shirts, etc. I caught it midday Saturday and there was barely a thing left. Thanks to Robert Ripps for the shot.
