Tutu School, a national dance school franchise with eight locations in the city, has taken the former Lance Lappin space on West Broadway between Duane and Reade.
I haven’t heard back from them directly, but the location — 123 West Broadway — is listed on their website.
That building is scheduled to have a jeweler taking the former Baby Cottons and Willow & Zoey space — they were connected; I will follow up to see if that is still a go.
The company was founded in 2008 by Genevieve Custer Weeks, a former dancer with the Oakland Ballet. She began teaching preschoolers while still dancing professionally. The first Tutu School was in San Francisco; there are now 120 locations in three countries.
They offer classes starting with Baby Ballet for 6 to 18 months, up to Primary Ballet Prep for ages 5 to 8.
More TK when I can get a sneak peek.
