This is Esmail Alhayani’s first deli but not his first rodeo: his uncle showed him the ropes over the past couple years at his deli on Spring and Greenwich. That’s Esmail on the left. (This spot was most recently the Body Roll studio; before that it was the Beach Street Eatery.)

The Golden Beach Deli has all the usual offerings and in a very compact space. There’s wraps, paninis, burgers, quesadillas, shakes and of course BECs. The classic on a roll is $3.99. They also make omelet sandwiches — the Golden Beach is ham, onion and green peppers for $6.99.

There’s all the protein bars, a wall of drinks and chips, tons of snacks, and a good variety of staples in the far corner: coffee, good salad dressing, peanut butter, sugar, oils. Very handy for the northerners. There’s good chocolate and chapstick at the register, plus the bodega-as-drug-story offerings: Advil, toothpaste, deodorant. (I wish the outside was cuter, but I get that there is an assumption about what it should look like…)
