BOATHOUSE CELEBRATION ON PIER 26
The Downtown Boathouse will host free kayaking from 10a to 4:30p and a Boathouse Celebration from noon to 4p on Saturday, July 25 — City of Water Day. The celebration will feature a special activity with River Project, an open house showcasing the space and work of Village Community Boathouse, and discussions about the art of boat building. WASHINGTON MARKET PARK SEEKING WORKER BEES
The Friends of Washington Market Park is seeking volunteers to prune, plant, water and generally care for the park. Teams from We Are Social, Google, BMCC, Chabad of Tribeca and Marsh have helped out already. Email info@washingtonmarketpark.org.

CHRIS RIVERS AT FRIEDRICHS PONTONE
Friedrich Pontone has exteded Chris Rivers’ exhibition Supernova NY until August 8. The paintings range from initial forays into industrial landscape through turbulent images of ‘celestial creatures’ such as cherubs, skeletons and astronauts tumbling through the voids of cosmic space, to specific incidents of British history. Open Tuesdays to Sundays, 10-6 pm, at the gallery at 273 Church.
