TICKETS FOR SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARK
Citizens Bank on Reade and Hudson will once again give away (free) tickets for Shakespeare in the Park’s production of The Winter’s Tale on Thursday, July 30, from noon to 2p. NB: The line starts early! They don’t tell me how many tickets they get so you have to take your chances. The bank has a partnership with The Public Theater, and distributes tickets at 12 branches across the city (on different dates).

EXPAT REPORT: YASMINE KARRENBERG
Longtime Tribecan Yasmine Karrenberg, who had Flowers by Yasmine in Le District before she moved to France four years ago, is opening a coffee shop in Normandie and hopes folks will stop by. “If anyone from my old favorite neighborhood wants to come visit, it would such a pleasure to see you all,” she wrote. It’s called Brume, and it’s in her current hometown of Trouville-sur-Mer. “My great-grandmother has had a house here since 1948, so I’ve been coming here since I was born. It’s the family gathering place; I used to come here with my daughters every year,” she told the local paper there (in French — this is Google translate for the record). “Every time I came here, I always felt happy. I know it’s different to come here on vacation than to live here, but I knew I would be happy here, with the sea by my side.”

HAPPY 50TH TO THE GREENMARKET
The Greenmarket is 50 this year, and while they are not celebrating in Tribeca, I thought folks would be interested in the celebration on Friday, July 31, from 4 to 8p at Union Square. (Ours is 45 this year, founded in 1981.) The free, public event will celebrate five decades of Greenmarkets with an evening market featuring live music from the Jazz Foundation, food and refreshments available for purchase and a short celebratory program. NEW SPOT FOR SERAFINA FOUNDERS
Serafina cofounders Vittorio Assaf and Fabio Granato have opened Brasserie Cognac Américain, a French-American brasserie on 40th and Fifth Avenue. The chef is Michael Lomonaco, and the menu features classic French favorites.
