FUNDRAISER FOR PROJECT SKYE
Tribecans Beth Redmond and Tatum Hogue have started a nonprofit dedicated to care for senior dogs. We will meet to chat, but in the meantime, they are hosting a fundraiser for the organization, Project Skye, on August 23, 2 to 5p, at Cork Wine Bar in the Seaport, 193, Front. Tickets will be $65 and will include wine, light bites and a Project Skye tote bag. There will be a few adoptable seniors and Heather LaHaise, a dog artist, will be painting custom wine totes for purchase with a portion of the proceeds going to Project Skye.

The Greenmarket organization is 50 years old (ours is 45 this year, founded in 1981) and Charlie Komanoff went to the bday party at the mothership, Union Square, and sent some photos.

Community Board 1 has announced its newest members: Elyse Buxbaum, Cindy Espinosa, Pamela Friedl, Ruth Hubbard, Lin Tyrpien, Shawn Ware and Kelly Washburn.

TUNNEL TO TOWERS 5K ON SEPTEMBER 27
The annual Tunnel to Towers 5K race will take place this year on September 27, 9:30a starting in Brooklyn and ending on West and Murray. The race honors firefighter Stephen Gerard Siller, who died at age 34 on 9/11 at the World Trade Center after running through the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to get to the site. The organization also hosts a Tower Climb (this year was on June 7) where participants climb 104 floors of One World Trade Center. Register here.
