NEW RESTAURANT AT HANOVER SQUARE: EVELYN
More when I can get down there, but in the meantime, Evelyn, a restaurant and cocktail bar, has soft-opened at 11 Hanover Square in Fidi. Evelyn McConnell spent the past 25 years at The Full Shilling on Pearl Street; this is her first restaurant. The official opening is August 26. The restaurant has a 20-seat long oak bar and a 90-seat dining room. More here.

BENEFIT ART EXHIBIT IN STUDIO ON CHAMBERS
A group of artists with a space at 118 Chambers are organizing an exhibit and fundraiser titled Before We Call It Home in support of The Brave House, a Brooklyn-based nonprofit supporting young immigrant women and gender-expansive youth ages 16 to 24. The opening reception is August 26 from 6 to 8p; the show runs through September 11, when there will be a closing event from 6 to 8p. The exhibit brings together 18 artists who think expansively about migration, displacement, belonging and the possibility of building home through solidarity and repair.

ZEGNA IS CLOSING IN BROOKFIELD
