The MTA sent a press release that they had made some fixes to the Park Place 2/3 station (along with the Houston and Christopher streets 1 stops). They looked like such minor changes I had to get a sense of the condition of that station — I am rarely in it.

So it’s actually looking pretty good. Were it up to me, I would have them give some of the tile walls a scrub and restore all the old mosaics, but given the state of other nearby stations, that seems greedy. (And this seems like regular expected repairs, but we know in this city it doesn’t always work like that.)

Crews completed 38,000 square feet of repainting at Park Place, including the entrances, booths, doors, ceilings and track areas. And 3,000 feet of platform edges were repaired across the three stations. Crews also refinished benches for customer seating, cleaned drains and serviced HVAC systems.

New York City Transit has completed projects like this as part of its Station Revive program at more than 180 stations across the city.
