TurboTax opening an office on Greenwich and Warren

Intuit, the financial technology platform that makes Intuit TurboTax, Credit Karma, QuickBooks and Mailchimp, is opening a store on Greenwich just south of Whole Foods. This is part of a big push by the company to open 600 retail stores across the country. In January, they opened a flagship in Soho. (Thanks to A. for the shot.)

The retail shops are called Expert Office locations and TurboTax Stores.

There’s some irony here — that a digital-first service is going IRL in the AI age, but I like it!

“We are fundamentally redefining what it means to get taxes done by delivering a first-of-its-kind seamless integration of our digital and physical experience,” said an executive vice president, Mark Notarainni, when the Soho store opened. “[This] is the physical manifestation of our AI+HI strategy, a modern space where our AI and local human expertise converge to provide trusted, personalized guidance.”

They opened a bunch of stores this spring, including in Harlem, Williamsburg and Garden City, Long Island.

  1. I swear I saw them opening on Park Row as well!

  2. The bus I was on zipped by One Park Row so fast that I couldn’t be sure, so I verified online that TurboTax will be coming to this former J&R location. The window was covered by logo-filled paper and definitely not open yet. The TurboTax website confirmed that this is a location where “Online appointments available now.
    In-person appointments available soon.”
