Sneak Peek: Friedmans on Greenwich

I will get in there soon for lunch or dinner, but in the meantime, the new Friedmans on Greenwich and North Moore is open and very cute. It is in the former Caliza space in Independence Plaza; their sister restaurant, Suram, is already open next door.

I made plans to go today for breakfast, but NB they do not open till 10 on the weekdays. (The website says 11a, but I think it is actually 10a…) And I was looking forward to it! They are known for their all-day breakfast: lemon ricotta pancakes, pastrami hash, B.E.L.T.s. Dinner is salads and bowls and a big range of mains: schnitzel, brick chicken, meatloaf, burgers and tons more.

The space has the elevated (literally) sidewalk cafe that is partly covered and a private room in the back with sliding doors. The architects eliminated the raised part of the dining room — not sure why that was there to begin with. The bar is the entire length of the south side, as it was at Caliza. There’s cocktails, draft beers and a limited number of wines by the glass and bottle.

More TK.

  1. We went there over the weekend. The food was really good and a really good deal – it’s cheaper than most places around it
