TOUR LITTLE ISLAND WITH SIGNE NIELSEN
Longtime Tribecan and landscape architect Signe Nielsen along with architect of record Fabian Jabro will lead a tour of Little Island on October 2 at 10:30a and noon. Explore how Little Island grew from a storm-damaged pier into an award-winning park. Hear the thinking behind the pathways, blooms and lawns, and the story behind the park’s iconic tulip pots. NEW OUTDOOR FLEA MARKET ON BROADWAY
A flea market called The Good Flea has opened in the parking lot at 411 Broadway and Lispenard — across from the First National City Bank of New York building — aka 415 Broadway. (And where all the counterfeit sellers usually work, as in the photo above.) (Could this be what we have needed for that corner?) They are open every Saturday and Sunday from 10a to 6p, rain or shine, and host 20 to 25 vendors. Entry to the market is free for all attendees. More info here. And more TK when I get over there.

DOWNTOWN GALLERY NIGHT FRIDAY
Z. caught this on Instagram. Someone — not sure who! — is hosting an After Hours Downtown Gallery Night with all our local galleries — more than 80 — on Friday, September 25, 6 to 8p. You have to download the Showrunner app to see the full list of participants, get directions, and plan your route. The evening continues with drinks at YveYANG gallery on Wooster until 9p, sponsored by Showrunner.

VOLUNTEER WITH HUDSON RIVER PARK
Hudson River Park’s River Project and Volunteer Program will host both shoreline and land cleanups in the next few weeks: September 26 and October 3, as well as events in late October and early November. At Blue Team events, volunteers remove marine debris from the shoreline alongside River Project scientists and the WasteShark, a remote-controlled aquadrone. The Green Team works with horticulture staff in landscape activities including planting, weeding, pruning, mulching and cleaning. See Blue Team info here; Green Team info here.
