MOVIES UNDER THE STARS
The Friends of Washington Market Park will host their Movie Night Under The Stars on Friday, October 9, 7:15p, with a screening of the Lindsay Lohan version of “The Parent Trap.” Bring a blanket. The event was sponsored by No Biggie and Buckle My Shoe Preschool. (I think this is a rescheduled event from the nor’easter.)
DANCE FOR KIDS AT WASHINGTON MARKET PARK
Also this weekend at the park, Dance with Miss Rachel will host a free dance party on Sunday, October 11, at 11a. Sign up here on Miss Rachel’s site.
UPON THE PALACE REOPENING FRIDAY
Upon the Palace, which opened on Greenwich in late 2023, will introduce a new menu tomorrow in collaboration with Jiang Wentao, a fourth-generation chef and culinary heritage practitioner who specializes in Chu cuisine — with freshwater fish, lotus root, rice and seasonal produce playing an important role. The restaurant will also host a reopening celebration on October 20 with a free dining night. All food will be complimentary with beverages for purchase. See reservations here.
Fun detail: the name is a play on Epang Palace, the Chinese palace complex built during the reign of Qin Shi Huang, the first emperor of China and the founder of the Qin dynasty.
