••• Speaking of life outside NYC…. I’m going to L.A. for a few days in March and I could use restaurant recommendations. Not fancy but very good food and ideally on the west side. We’re already planning on Lucques because Suzanne Goin’s Sunday Suppers cookbook is my husband’s bible.

LA restaurants:
– Gjelina
– heard Salt Air is supposed to be good
– Malibu Farm
– Avoid Geoffrey’s completely
– Nobu is overpriced and ridiculously scene-y, but great view
Thanks! Loved Gjelina on last visit, but we’ll probably avoid Venice this time. Will investigate the others….
Other restaurants to try in LA are:
-Milo & Olive
-Rustic Canyon
-RedBird
-Bestia
-Cassisa
Thanks! Actually just made a reservation at Bestia — it had better be good seeing as how I had to spend 15 minutes on the phone waiting for a reservationist!
