••• Opening today: Online jewelry shop Stone & Strand‘s first brick-and-mortar space, upstairs at 185 Franklin: “The 1,600 sf loft space will offer customers the same white glove servicing the site has become known for, with the added benefits of previewing new collections, ring sizing, piercing and styling consultations, and exclusive offerings. […] The space will house pieces from the site’s favored designers—including Alison Lou, Pamela Love, Ileana Makri, Carolina Bucci and Amedeo—as well as serve as a launching pad for new offerings before they hit the site. Exclusive U.S. launches are also slated for international brands Ephiphanie; Nayla Arida; Ofee Jewelry; Shagreen et Tortoise; and Catherine Zoraida. Alongside this, Stone & Strand Tribeca offers a specially selected collection of vintage pieces, including Chanel, Givenchy and YSL.” For info, email services@stoneandstrand.com.
••• A reader sent three Broadway updates. First: The Roll and Go dollar slice joint at 362 Broadway (at Franklin) is becoming half Black Burger. The two are side-by-side at Canal and W. Broadway.
••• Second: A peek inside the demolition at 396 Broadway (south side of Walker). That’s the building being converted to a hotel with a Blue Bottle café on the ground floor; there’s no word on exactly what the hotel will be like, other than cheap. I can’t shake the suspicion it’ll be an Ace.
••• And third: Something is happening in the retail space at 400 Broadway (north side of Walker).
••• February 25 at City Winery: “Watch NYC’s favorite Joan Osborne throw down against Nashville’s up and coming country rockstar, Sonia Leigh. Joan and Sonia will compete covering songs of Rolling Stones, Dolly Parton and more!” If they’ll commit to a duet on Osborne’s “Right Hand Man,” I’ll be there.
