••• North End Grill will eliminate tipping soon: “North End Grill will be moving to a Hospitality Included menu at the end of April. You may have already heard and read a lot about this program, but for those who haven’t: North End Grill will no longer include a line for gratuity in our bill. Instead, the entire cost of your meal and experience will be reflected in the menu. There be will no service fee or admin charge, and the only percentage added at the end is tax.
••• A reader found two interesting diagrams on the Department of Buildings site for the 18-story building planned for 59 Franklin. The first one shows how the bulk of it is in a tower, along Franklin, with many setbacks. According to the second (click to enlarge), a “portion of existing mixed-use 5-story building to remain” on Broadway (the lot is L-shaped); behind it, the building will be one story, presumably to allow for west-facing windows on the lower floors of the tower.
••• I hadn’t been to the Juice Press on Murray in a while, so this may be old news, but it’s no longer making made-to-order salads. And they were really good!
••• So this must be the “unprecedented retailing concept and social mecca” that J&R touted when it closed: They’re marketing 1 Park Row, the first two floors of 15 Park Row, and some part of the as-yet-unbuilt of 25 Park Row as a single 100,000-square-foot unit (with “multiple divisions considered”).
••• FiDi Middle Eastern restaurant Alfanoose appears to have closed.
••• Nearby on Fulton, a new slice joint: Little Italy Pizza. It’s not related to the one on Park Place.

The Juice Press on Greenwich is also no longer making made-to-order salads. The woman working there said they made under 20 a day. She said it’s going to be replaced with a raw oatmeal bar, like they have at some other Juice Press locations.
