••• Belle Reve is trying something new with its little window. Love the stickers, but I can’t imagine a certain fast-food multinational will be charmed by the name Taco Belle.
••• In case you were wondering—as I was—ifter (more commonly iftar or ifthar) is “the evening meal with which Muslims end their daily Ramadan fast at sunset. Muslims break their fast at the time of the call to prayer for the evening prayer. This is their second meal of the day; the daily fast during Ramadan begins immediately after the pre-dawn meal of Suhur and continues during the daylight hours, ending with sunset with the evening meal of Ifthar.”
••• Has anyone tried Raku, the East Village udon restaurant that has opened on Macdougal?
••• I wondered a few months back why boxes of produce were being delivered to Rosanjin, which hasn’t been in operation since February of 2016. It turns out that—likely among other things—the former restaurant is making sushi for a new Union Market in Brooklyn.
••• The proprietors of the new bar coming to to 285 W. Broadway have indicated they plan on applying for sidewalk seating, but as I walked by today, I noticed for the first time that the building-adjacent sidewalk on both Canal and W. Broadway is seriously sloped. (More than it looks in this photo.) Will they have to construct a platform?

That new bar in the old Haus location better not bring trouble and bad elements to the area like Haus. If it does, a bunch of us are prepared to shut it down. We will not be patient like we were with Haus. The gauntlet has been thrown down.
