Cafe Clementine finds a new Tribeca home on Greenwich and Duane

Café Clementine, which closed its fan favorite spot on West Broadway and White in October, will reopen late spring or summer in the former Cornerstone space on Duane and Greenwich. This is great news in a season of renewal.

They will take the corner plus one window of the former liquor store — Tribeca Wines & Spirits which is now at West Broadway and Worth — at 325 Greenwich, giving them 700 square feet plus some of the basement. They will have some work to do to get it ready, but you can’t beat that corner.

The landlord, who bought the building from Peter Matera two years ago, is in the process of removing the stucco from the building and restoring it to exposed brick — hence the sidewalk bridge (see the before after so far below). The residential units upstairs will stay in place — they are rent stabilized.

That building used to house not just the liquor store but also Myoptics and Dudley’s Paw, all of which were kicked out when the new owner bought the building in the spring of 2019. Cornerstone left a couple years before that — in 2017.
