THE TIN BUILDING AIMING FOR AUGUST 4
The Tin Building, the reconstructed Fish Market building at the Seaport being reimagined as a food hall by Jean-Georges Vongerichten, will open on August 4 UPDATE: the PR firm for HH was incorrect — in fact it is opening with limited hours in August, soon to expand along with grand debut events taking place in late September. UPDATE: the PR firm for Howard Hughes said August was not happening August 4, according to a neighbor who had some inside intel. The Tin Building by Jean-Georges will be a 53,000-square foot marketplace with multiple restaurants and a central market offering locally sourced seafood, meats, cheese, fresh produce and specialty items.

HUDSON RIVERKIDS IS BACK
Hudson River Park will offer a free family event called Hudson RiverKids on Mondays through Augsut at Pier 25 at 4p. There will be magic, music, dance performances as well as kid-friendly dancing and performance art. No need to register. See the full lineup here.

GOVERNORS ISLAND SEEKING MORE COMMERCIAL TENANTS
The Trust for Gov­er­nors Island today released two RFPs invit­ing oper­a­tors of event, food and bev­er­age, and hos­pi­tal­i­ty venues to ground lease, rede­vel­op and oper­ate sev­er­al build­ings through­out the island’s His­toric Dis­trict. The idea is to support the pub­lic use of the island year-round and expand vis­i­tor ameni­ties while breath­ing new life into 50 land­marked for­mer mil­i­tary buildings.

River & Blues continues this week at Robert F. Wagner, Jr. Park at 6p — with a DJ set at 6, vocalist Maggie Rose at 6:30 and Cedric Burnside at 7. Burnside was born into a prominent family of North Mississippi Hill Country legends and won a Grammy for his 2022 release “I Be Trying.”
