The Michelin guide has announced a preview of restaurants it is considering for its list — a teaser — and Chambers, One White Street, Ito, L’Abeille and Icca are among them. The official reveal comes Oct. 6.
Eater gives a better explanation of the guide’s MO than I could: “Not to be confused with the organization’s annual awards ceremony, where stars and other accolades are bestowed upon or stripped from restaurants, the new adds are an indication of the types of venues that Michelin inspectors have on their radar. The list doesn’t guarantee that restaurants are receiving a star rating, nor does it indicate their fate on the guide’s Bib Gourmand list, a larger category of more affordable establishments.”
Just to review the neighborhood offerings, we have an impressive selection: For two stars there Atera and Jungsik, and for one star there’s Crown Shy, Bâtard and L’Appart. We can also walk to Le Coucou and Vestry. And on their Bib Gourmand list, for exceptional yet affordable spots: Khe-Yo, Dim Sum Go Go and Thai Diner.
Giving a little shout to the Lambs Club too, since I love that spot for midtown — especially the upstairs bar.

L’Abeille is on the latest list as well.
