I was walking home from North End Grill when I smelled the smoke and headed over (causing my partner to call me an ambulance chaser). Anyway, I took this photo (and tweeted about it, which is why if you’re on Twitter you should follow @TribecaCitizen). No one was hurt, which is great, of course. I did get a kick out of seeing people working out in the building’s ground-floor gym….

I sensed something was up there, but the Roganites would give dirty looks if you paused to peek in, so I didn’t pursue it. —Well + Good

Daniel Squadron’s district currently stretches across Lower Manhattan, from Canal Street to Battery Park, and through parts of southern Brooklyn. The redistricting proposal would slice the western edge off of Tribeca and the Financial District, separating the World Trade Center and Battery Park City from the rest of Lower Manhattan and cutting Battery Park in half.” —DNAinfo
