••• “HealthCare Chaplaincy is putting its East 60th Street headquarters building up for sale. The decision is part of the group’s plan to move to a planned new palliative-care center in Lower Manhattan. […] HealthCare Chaplaincy is in contract to purchase a parking lot and two buildings on South Street downtown, between Rutgers and Clinton streets, for an undisclosed price. It expects to start construction of a new multi-use center for palliative care, which will also have space for its headquarters and staff of 30, according to Ms. Altman. Financing is being finalized for the properties’ purchase. When completed the 175,000-square-foot, 16-story building will be dubbed the New National Center for Palliative Care Innovation. It will boast 120 500-square-foot assisted-living units for a mix of low income and market-rate tenants. The building will also have a parking garage. The second floor of the building will house an outpatient clinic.” —Crain’s
