I heard a very intriguing rumor last night: Gabby Karan De Felice and Gianpaolo De Felice are said to be opening a restaurant on Franklin Street, presumably in 114 Franklin, where I had heard Thalassa was opening an Italian restaurant. (For all I know, they’re all involved.) Not only was this new rumor presented as fact, the person who told it to me said the new restaurant would be open by September. The reason it’s especially intriguing is that one would naturally assume it’ll be another branch of Tutto Il Giorno, the De Felices’ wildly popular Italian restaurants in Sag Harbor and Southampton. (Gabby Karan De Felice, by the way, is the daughter of Donna Karan.) That’s Tutto Il Giorno’s photo of spaghetti al pomodoro, above, and I can’t take my eyes off of it.
