Seen & Heard: $1 Cupcakes

••• To celebrate its first anniversary, our Billy’s Bakery is selling cupcakes for $1 on this Sunday and Monday.

••• The current deal on InBundles is for Adrienne’s Pizza Bar on Stone Street: Pay $12 for $25 in credit, to be used for food or drink by December 18. You can buy as many as you want, but you can only use one at a time and they’re not valid for delivery. And you have midnight tomorrow to buy.

••• Washington Market School is expanding next door into 138 Duane, where Secondhand Rose used to be. “We’re expanding the lower school,” said the nice gentleman on the phone about the Duane Street location. “Lower grades?” I asked, because I’m pretty uneducated on the matters of local schools. “Well, it’s all preschool,” he explained. “It’s broken up into kids who are pottytrained and kids who aren’t.”

••• Farinella Italian Bakery continues to sell its bread for just $1 after 5 p.m.

••• Tonight from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. is the opening for “A Separate Peace,” the new exhibit at the McNeill Art Group’s Tribeca Project Space, in the Artisan Lofts lobby on Reade Street. (That’s Jonathan Allen’s “Blue” at left.) The exhibit is otherwise by appointment only.

••• I’m making a prediction: This will be the summer of the affogato, gelato “drowning” in espresso (“affogato” means “drowned” in Italian). Both Kaffe 1668 and RBC NYC are promoting theirs. And if you find yourself at Pulino’s, the newish restaurant at Bowery and Houston, get the affogato because it’s a delight—anise gelato in ice-cold coffee with orange biscotti on the side.
