••• What a disappointment: A reader going by Resident noticed that the recently closed Star Pizza store at Murray and Church will be an outpost of the Famous Famiglia pizza chain.

••• From Notify NYC: “Weather permitting, two F/A-18 Hornets will conduct a flyover at an altitude of 2500 feet, on Thursday, 8/28 at approximately 9:30 a.m. The aircrafts will travel from JFK Airport over the Atlantic Ocean through the Verrazano Narrows, and over the Hudson River to the George Washington Bridge. ••• Tried Gelato Ti Amo on John (between Broadway and Nassau) for the first time yesterday. It was good! Although they only had four flavors—something about waiting for a shipment. I can vouch for the mint chip and the chocolate, but if it’s 90 degrees out you may want to eat it in the shop. I was a mess.

••• A café and bakery called Lot 77 is opening in the Southbridge Towers storefront where a pizza joint used to be. One of the signs in the window also says “sticker design” (?).
