In the News: First Look at White Street Restaurant

••• The New York Times‘s fall restaurant preview says that: 1) Northern Tiger, the Chinese food kiosk in the Brookfield Place food court, will open in in October—and the sample dish pictured in the article is “heritage pork and chive dumplings and heirloom tomato and egg noodles”; 2) Jose Garces’s Spanish restaurant Amada at Brookfield Place (on Vesey) will open in January; 3) something called Industry Kitchen will open in November at 70 South Street (at Pine)—”casual fare comes to an industrial setting […] under the FDR Drive”; 4) Le District (French Eataly at Brookfield Place) will start open in in November, as will Little Park, Andrew Carmellini’s Plein Sud replacement at the Smyth; 5) Pier A Harbor House will open in November. Notably not mentioned: Tetsu, Masa Takayama’s teppanyaki spinoff on Leonard.

••• More on Le District from the New York Post: “will partly launch in November with the opening of a full-service restaurant called Beaubourg. It will boast 96 seats indoors and 166 more outdoors facing Battery Park City’s North Cove yacht marina. The same month will also see the opening of Café District, a grab-and-go spot for coffee, tea, pastries and chocolates. Then, in March 2015 will come […] restaurant L’Appart with 28 indoor seats; Absynthe Bar with 45 indoor and 84 outdoor seats; a Market District section featuring savory stations for bread, cheese, fish and wine; and a Garden District with specialty shops for groceries, flowers and prepared food.”
